Sunnyvale, CA, August 13, 2025 - The Sunnyvale Civic Center Campus, designed by SmithGroup, is unlike any municipal building in the country. The first phase of the master plan is now complete, and this fall the 170,000-square-foot facility will officially be designated as the first ground-up LEED Platinum and Net Zero Energy City Hall in the United States. We looked back on this groundbreaking, multi-phase project with Todd Kohli, Senior Principal and Landscape Architect at SmithGroup.
Norco, CA, July 24, 2025 - New Levus+ pieces have arrived, expanding the concrete planter wall and seating collection to 96 different parts in various forms to give landscape architects more freedom to design a custom space. The modular system, which we introduced in 2024, now features curved corners, chamfered corners, and concrete benches with backs.

Norco, CA, October 16, 2024 - QCP has been certified as a 'Great Place to Work.' October 16 marked Certified Nation Day, honoring the companies who hold this distinguished title.
December 29 - As 2023 comes to a close, this period is characterized by significant changes that empower us to deliver more value than ever to landscape architects. We take a moment to reflect on the milestones that have defined the past year as one of the most transformative chapters in our company's history, focusing on additions to our standard product line.
NORCO, CA, February 15 - Lisa Chestnut is a landscape architecture professional and artist who has collaborated with QCP on products, including the UFO fire feature and Slab bench. Chestnut’s latest contribution to QCP’s portfolio offers a playful energy through color. The Wilson is a versatile new concrete bench that’s available in two sizes. Our four standard precast concrete colors make up the exterior, and the void in the center is accented by one of 12 different colors available.
Norco, CA, January 30 - With 2024 in our rearview window, we’re taking a look back to celebrate our standout site furnishing projects. These award-winning and noteworthy collaborations are backed by more than 45 years of experience, and our team provides everything from 3D modeling to site coordination and installation.
Norco, CA, January 23 - Last year, we experienced quite a few highs: We unveiled 28 new products over the course of the year, many of which we brought to the ASLA conference in Washington, D.C. and around the country on our trailer tours. We’d also be remiss if we didn’t mention a devastating low with the loss of our founder, Fred Crook, in May. As a family-owned and operated company since our founding in 1976, we’re continuing Fred’s legacy by innovating with new standard products, enhancing our custom capabilities, and giving back to deserving and underserved communities through various pro bono projects.
Earlier this year, QCP lost our inimitable founder and former CEO Fred Crook. Until his retirement in 2016, he had a consistent routine. He woke up and performed an elaborate calisthenics session, drank his first of many Tejavas, and headed out to Norco around 6 a.m. for another day at his home away from home, QCP.
Fred’s experience with precast concrete dates back to 1958, when he was 19 and took on a job learning the ins and outs of running a concrete manufacturing plant. A true people person and known for his silver tongue, he was particularly skilled in sales and customer service. He was a problem solver, smart, and scrappy, with a strong intuition that guided his business decisions.
Norco, CA, December 5 - QCP is thrilled to announce that we’ve received an award from the Architectural Precast Association (APA) for our work on the Redmond Technology Station Pedestrian Bridge in Redmond, Washington. The APA Awards for Excellence is a prestigious program highlighting excellence in design, manufacturing, and craftsmanship, and this particular project earned an award for craftsmanship.
Norco, CA, November 21 - Understanding how QCP can be there “for your design,” is crucial to our team, and we’re outlining the steps required to make that happen.
Norco, CA, October 30 - QCP is here for your design, and some of our proudest work includes the custom projects we contribute to on a regular basis. From fully customized designs to modified versions of our Standard Products, there’s a wide range we work with to successfully complete each project.
To better understand how to specify us and maximize your custom project experience, we’ve outlined everything landscape architects and designers should know about working with QCP. Family owned and operated since 1976, we've dedicated nearly five decades to crafting the most durable and design-forward site furnishings.
“‘For your design’ really speaks to the whole custom part of the business,” says QCP CEO Rick Crook. “We’ve learned so many new capabilities through custom, which has led to innovations we’ve incorporated into our standard product development.”
Norco, CA, October 4 - In an effort to provide more public access to fresh water and reduce the use of plastic bottles, QCP partnered with Linespace’s Max Beach to design the LA Bottle Filler & Drinking Fountain.
The LA Bottle Filler is an adaptation of the best-selling LA Drinking Fountain, and it’s available in two styles: the standalone bottle filler and the double-armed bottle filler and drinking fountain. With the latter, the bowls are set to an ADA-compliant height on one side and a standard height on the other.
“Our approach to it was to maintain some of the recognizable form lines so it could work as a family of products, but also as a clean, standalone unit,” Beach says. “The idea was to look at how these might be installed and how they might be used.”
Norco, CA, October 4 - Last year, we introduced you to the Levus Modular Planters. Now, we’re taking things to new heights with the Levus+ Planter Wall. The system comprises 25 units with three different heights and the same edge detail as the Levus planters, allowing you to create any combination you need for your particular space. They’re also made with thin, lightweight glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC).
“It’s a modular wall unit that breaks down into manageable sizes for two people to lift and carry,” Gilio-Tenan says. “It’s meant for more decking applications, where you want to create a large planter space but don’t have the ability to make a singular planter that large. It’s like a makeshift retaining wall to add planting in elevated areas. It gets waterproofed on the inside, and it can take on any configuration.”
Norco, CA, October 4 - QCP proudly announces the launch of its latest innovation, the Halo Table, designed in collaboration with award winning designer John Cook. The Halo Table represents a significant leap in outdoor dining furniture, combining modern forms with functional excellence.
John Cook, known for his industrial design expertise in exercise equipment, brings a fresh perspective to outdoor seating with the Halo Table. Inspired by the carousel theme, Cook has transformed the traditional table design by repositioning the supporting tubes to the side and enhancing user comfort while eliminating the common issue of knee obstruction when sitting.
“I aimed to create something truly unique that deviates from conventional designs,” Cook says. “By reimagining the repeatable support structure, we’ve ensured an unobstructed experience for users, making it easier and more enjoyable to sit at the table.”
Norco, CA, September 5 - QCP is thrilled to announce that we’re donating to not one, but two important community-based projects: Lafayette Park in Los Angeles and Taco Plaza in Sacramento. We were so impressed by all of the pro bono project submissions this year, but these two stood out for several reasons.
Below, learn a bit more about these deserving projects:

After hearing from QCP clients that there was a need for a lighter-appearing waste container, the design team created the company’s first multi-material option.

This is another step toward our environmentally conscious future as a company with durable, sustainable products.

NORCO, CA, April 2023 - Fire features have become a wildly popular item, found everywhere from commercial spaces like office rooftops to backyards. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, Architect Magazine has reported an increased demand in fire features. Bringing people outside and in a comfortable environment is an excellent way to gather in a more open space. And while these beautiful pieces are known to light up any outdoor space, there is a lot to consider when choosing the best one for your site project.
PHOENIX, AZ, February 2023 - Connecting Communities with Concrete Solutions. This is the core value of QCP and led us to work with the Arizona School for the Arts on one of our most fulfilling projects to date. Using innovative designs created by Dig Studio, we offered our concrete outdoor furniture to rejuvenate the school’s outdoor spaces over Fall Break of 2022. The collaborative project turned unused exterior spaces into creative hubs where students can gather for learning, rehearsing, eating lunch, or simply hanging out.
NORCO, CA, January 2023 - QCP has acquired Canterbury Designs line of site furnishings. Founded by visionary Larry Snyder in 1962, the site furnishings company has a wide-ranging line of benches, waste receptacles, tree grates, bollards and more.
NORCO, CA, November 2022 - QCP Corp proudly unveiled its QCP Foosball Table in November at the American Society of Landscape Architects Expo in San Francisco, California. As the newest addition to QCP’s Gaming Collection, a line of stylish-yet-durable concrete gaming products, the Foosball Table is an heirloom-quality piece that can be enjoyed indoors or outdoors for decades to come.
NORCO, CA, August 2022 - QCP has collaborated with many design firms on a myriad of projects over the years, however the recently completed Curtain of Courage Memorial in San Bernardino, CA , designed by Walter Hood and his team at Hood Design Studio in Oakland, CA stands apart for both the unique design elements and raw emotional power of the installation. The memorial is dedicated to the 14 victims of the terror attack which occurred on Dec. 2, 2015, at a San Bernardino County Environmental Health Services staff meeting. The attack also left 21 wounded. The design consists of 14 alcoves in an undulating layout, each dedicated and personalized to reflect an individual lost in this senseless act of violence.
Redwood City, CA, January 2019 – QCP’s recent addition to the roof deck of the new Chan Zuckerberg Initiative in Redwood City, CA is a case study for how the Southern California precast firm’s hands-on approach can be transformative to the end results.
Call us nostalgic, but we miss the simplicity of the mid-century playgrounds which fueled imagination and creative play for many generations. Back in the day, QCP, then known as Quick Crete, made turtles, dolphins, and other play structures all out of precast concrete. They were a hit and you can still see them in some older parks. They were great for climbing, they lasted forever and kids loved them.
QCP is raising the bar for precast once again with Eduracast, our most modern and advanced concrete mixture to date. This revolutionary formula opens up a world of new possibilities for cutting-edge precast design, starting with our exciting new Groove table and Orion bench amenities.
Quality matters. And when it comes to precast concrete products, that goes double. Just imagine the beating your typical public bench, waste container or paver takes day after day, night after night. Precast amenities aren’t just subjected to the use and abuse of everyday people, they’ve also got to take the worst mother nature can throw at them each and every spring, winter, summer and fall.
Where do you go after 40 years of leadership in the precast concrete site furnishings industry? For QCP, the answer is simple: to the next level.
QCP was recently tapped to join world-class designer HOK Architects, Level 10 Construction and the Jay Paul Company to help complete Central Wolfe, a dynamic new tech campus located in Sunnyvale, CA. The collective’s goal was to create a unique site that would set new standards for design and architectural innovation in Silicon Valley.
As a leader in the precast concrete industry, we’re proud to have quite a few feathers in our cap. QCP has become well known for creating innovative precast amenities of exceptional design and build quality, as well as for our hands-on, whatever-it-takes approach to customer service.
QCP recently went back to school, helping to revitalize the University of Southern California’s Trousdale Parkway entrance as part of the university’s campus beautification project.
The massive $1 billion renovation of the Westfield Century City location is one of Los Angeles’ highest-profile retail development projects in years. Small wonder that they tapped QCP to produce site amenities for this retail, dining and entertainment landmark.
QCP added another high-profile destination to our roster of projects this past November with the grand opening of the Outlets at San Clemente.
It’s not every day you get to pay tribute to a living legend—or make a surfboard out of concrete, for that matter. Recently, we were able to do both at the same time when the City of Hermosa Beach asked QCP to help create a unique monument to surfing pioneer Greg “Da Bull” Noll.
Open space can be hard to come by in Orange County. As we creep past the Santa Ana River on the 57 freeway we rarely stop to think about what an important environmental resource the river is.
We know that finding a great contractor to bring your designs to life can sometimes be a daunting task. Getting your ideas from the drawing board (or sometimes a cocktail napkin) to ribbon cutting can be difficult.
