South San Francisco, CA, June 26, 2025 - As part of Kilroy’s massive undertaking at Oyster Point, QCP contributed to the innovative landscape design concept with custom concrete seat walls, tables, and an 18-foot fire feature.

The 50-acre property will soon encompass life science buildings and laboratories, with amenities such as fitness centers, outdoor meeting spaces, and more. In Phase 2, QCP worked with premier landscape architecture firm Field Operations to design contemporary outdoor amenities with dramatic aggregates.

“This is the largest project we’ve done out on the peninsula so far,” says Neil Elenzweig, QCP’s senior sales consultant, who has worked on this part of the development since 2019. “They first saw our finish options, and that really evolved to the products we have out there now — seat walls, tables, and a fire feature.”

This project had tight tolerances, grade changes, and the coordination with wood slats and electrical elements, which is why Elenzweig recommended high-density foam mockups to analyze the spatiality and dimensionality of the design.

As with all of our custom projects, he says the entire QCP team learned even more about our custom capabilities. Elenzweig emphasized the efforts of Elisabet “Liz” Bracamontes, director of pre-production services at QCP, and her team.

“We had hundreds of unique pieces here, and Liz and her team did amazing managing the contractors at every level — designers, owners, the general contractor team, and all subcontractors,” he says. “They had to navigate various demands on different schedules, and were incredibly responsive to everyone’s needs.”

Bracamontes says QCP was officially awarded the project in July 2022, and after the shop drawing process and mold revisions, color and texture samples were reviewed.

“The color and texture process involved multiple rounds of samples for the seat walls, which required white aggregate and green pigment,” she says. “The tables required an unusual pouring method to achieve the honed finish with large white aggregate.”

This collaborative effort required several iterations and mockup reviews, and we also worked closely with the talented teams at Hathaway Dinwiddie and Jensen Landscape. Ultimately, these custom products received approval and praise from our renowned partners.

“I like to say, it's not about the problems, but it's how you address them or fix them. I think that's the case here,” Elenzweig says. “There were a lot of challenges, and we rose up to every single one of them, whatever they were. It’s a really impressive, amenity-rich campus, and I think our whole team should feel really proud of the quality and how it all turned out.”
