We know that finding a great contractor to bring your designs to life can sometimes be a daunting task. Getting your ideas from the drawing board (or sometimes a cocktail napkin) to ribbon cutting can be difficult.

One company that QCP has had the honor of working with is Aquatic Technologies, a home grown pool and water feature contractor. Aquatic was rated by Orange County Business Journal as #22 of the fastest growing companies in Orange County. Their business was up 113% over last year which followed an astounding increase of 25% the year before. This phenomenal success is due to Aquatic’s ability to craft excellence in their field. We had the pleasure of interviewing one of their project managers, Danny Hart, last week and wanted to share some of his insights into this booming industry.

QCP: We see you've been written up as one of the fastest growing companies in Orange County by the Orange County Business Journal. What has been your company's focus to encourage this new growth?
Danny Hart: Our business is completely relationship based. We have been fortunate enough to maintain great relationships throughout the history of the company and create new ones along the way.
QCP: The recession hit the building industry particularly hard. How did the recession change your business model?
DH: The recession taught us how to run more efficiently and with that knowledge we have been able to add efficiencies as we grow. Additionally, it forced us to enter markets that we had initially strayed away from. Looking back, it was a great learning experience for the company and we are definitely stronger for it.

QCP: What is your favorite project you've worked on in the last five years? Are there certain types of projects you prefer?
DH: We have had a chance to work on a lot of unique projects in the past few years. One of the company favorites is the Wounded Warrior Project at Camp Pendleton. (Pictured below) We had the opportunity to construct a therapy pool, lap pool and several fountains that are all there to help rehabilitate injured servicemen and women.

Speaking of the Wounded Warrior Project, we had a chance to look at this state of the art facility and delve into some of the features that make it unique. The facility includes numerous spaces intended to help injured marines and navy members make the transition back to active duty and their lives at home. This offered a unique challenge as the grounds and building had to be 100% ADA accessible. Aquatic Technologies’ involvement helped take this project to the next level. By taking the project above and beyond expectations, they helped the Marine Corps’ receive their first ever Platinum LEED certification. Sustainability is always a key concern on even the smallest projects and we think it’s great that Aquatic has helped an honorable institution provide for some of the country's finest.
We thank Aquatic for their continued work and hope that the next time you are in need of that perfect water feature you will work with Aquatic Technologies.
