Norco, CA, January 23 - Last year, we experienced quite a few highs: We unveiled 28 new products over the course of the year, many of which we brought to the ASLA conference in Washington, D.C. and around the country on our trailer tours. We’d also be remiss if we didn’t mention a devastating low with the loss of our founder, Fred Crook, in May. As a family-owned and operated company since our founding in 1976, we’re continuing Fred’s legacy by innovating with new standard products, enhancing our custom capabilities, and giving back to deserving and underserved communities through various pro bono projects.
We thoroughly enjoyed collaborating with Fletcher Studio and the Green Benefit District to completely transform The Living Room, an outdoor space located under an overpass in San Francisco. Later on, we also announced our 2024 pro bono recipients, Gardenland Northgate GNNA and Atlas Lab’s Taco Plaza in Sacramento and Heart of Los Angeles and cityLAB’s Lafayette Park in Los Angeles.
Below, we’re starting with a recap of the new and improved standard products we added to our lineup in 2024. Plus, we want to hear from you about how we’re doing, and what we can improve on in 2025. Please fill out our survey to better help you with any upcoming projects.
World’s Fair 1939, World’s Fair 1964, and Ronin
A blend of classic and modern, the latest QCP benches are a nod to the past and future. The iconic World’s Fair 1939 bench of New York City's Parks department was developed for use at the 1939 World's Fair, which was held in New York during 1938 and 1939. Meanwhile, the bench developed for the World’s Fair in 1964 is also known as the Flushing Meadows Corona Park bench.
For a more futuristic take on seating, we designed the Ronin Table & Seating Concept—including the Ronin bench—in partnership with Linespace's Max Beach. The key characteristic in the Ronin collection is the tapered look of the edge, which gives the appearance of a more lightweight, almost floating product.
Ronin, Halo 4, and Halo 5
Along with the Ronin table, designer John Cook ushered in the latest, most thoughtfully crafted carousel table with attached seating with the Halo 4 and Halo 5 tables. These are available with or without backs, or as an ADA-accessible version.
Wilson, Ronin Seat, and Kernel
We made a splash by entering 2024 with a pop of color, thanks to Lisa Chestnut’s unique and fun Wilson seating collection. The Ronin collection also brought in two new seat styles, and our existing Kernel design was elevated with eight more sizes offered.
Ronin and Module
The Ronin and Module gaming tables are customizable with built-in boards for chess, backgammon, and more.
Merge Mono (Updated 29-gallon), Merge Mono (45-gallon), Merge Duo, Merge Trio, and Unity
Waste containers have been a core part of our product line since the 1970s, but we’ve expanded our Merge collection with an update to the 29-gallon Merge Mono (now with steel siding and a rain cover), and introduced the 45-gallon Merge Mono, Merge Duo, and Merge Trio. In collaboration with John Cook, we also rounded out our Unity system with a waste container.
Levus+
Taking the Levus system to new heights, Levus+ comprises a total of 36 units with four different heights to create planter walls. It’s as close to custom as you can get with standard products, and they’re made with thin, lightweight glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC). This allows them to work for rooftops and other weight-sensitive spaces.
LA Bottle Fillers
We released several drinking fountains in 2023, but last year, we ventured to design two new bottle fillers. The LA Bottle Fillers were inspired by the LA Drinking Fountain, and the steel products are available in two forms: the LA Filler Standalone, and the LA Filler Double Arm, which functions as both a bottle filler and drinking fountain.
