Flatworx

A big thank you goes out to all that came out to visit us for the first annual New Products Open House at QCP.  This was the first of many exhibitions that QCP will be hosting all over Southern California.  You should also look for us at the ASLA convention in Denver this fall.  We’re extremely proud of our new product lines and would love to share them with you!  The afternoon was filled with food, music, and friends from the Inland Empire.  QCP’s headquarters were transformed into a showroom complete with beer from Hanger 24, the Kogi lunch truck, raffles, and plant tours.

It was a perfect afternoon for the unveiling of our two newest products- Shear and Q line.  Both designs received great praise from our many customers.

Shear line, Cliff Garten and John Cook

First we’ll look at Shear line which was designed by Cliff Garten.  Cliff Garten Studio’s work with QCP is a partnership to last the ages.  Cliff’s design background is extensive.  Garten received a Master of Fine Arts in Sculpture from the Rhode Island School of Design and a Master of Landscape Architecture with Distinction from the Harvard Graduate School of Design.  While highly educated it is obvious that Cliff’s talent is innate and lends itself to creating great spaces.  “Sculpture defines our interaction and movement by creating energy between things, generating interest in public activity, reframing our private lives and creating a sense of place within public and private realms.”  Cliff makes a great point, and we believe the new Shear line will help designers create these dynamic spaces.

The Qline and John Cook

The Q line was designed by John Cook, an industrial designer who currently calls Ventura home.  His sleek designs would no doubt be at home in any environment.  John’s background in industrial design lends itself to these simple yet flowing forms.  John’s current work includes designing exercise equipment for a global leader in fitness based education, Mad Dogg Athletics.  The Q line is reminiscent of these pragmatic yet elegant pieces.  He has also received many patents and international design awards including the IDEA, Good Design, ID magazine and Red Dot.  We are proud to have John as a collaborator on this new line.
