The massive $1 billion renovation of the Westfield Century City location is one of Los Angeles’ highest-profile retail development projects in years. Small wonder that they tapped QCP to produce site amenities for this retail, dining and entertainment landmark.
“We know Westfield and their design partners, The Office of James Burnett & Kelly Wearstler, have taken every step possible to create an environment unlike any other,” said Rick Crook, chief executive officer of QCP. “That’s why we are so proud to be a part of this project, where artistry, craftsmanship and innovation really matter.”
Brought onboard in 2016, QCP was given the opportunity to produce an entire family of site furnishings for the 1.3 million square foot retail center, including planters, furniture and water features. All of QCP’s contributions were handmade, custom designed and—like all QCP products—built to last.
“Our amenities were crafted to flow from the same central design aesthetic,” said Justin Wait, QCP’s regional sales executive for the Los Angeles territory. “There is a noticeable synergy among all of the elements we provided, and they beautifully complement the site.”
Lite Crete (GFRC) was chosen for the project’s architectural amenities. Durable and design friendly, this fiber-reinforced concrete has enabled QCP to create the kinds of pieces required for the Century City environment. Because of its highly flexural strength, it can easily be molded into the distinctive shapes and designs QCP needed without sacrificing durability, resulting in standout products for everyday use.
Although several soft openings have occurred to date, the full public unveiling of the new Westfield Century City project—and your chance to experience QCP’s contributions—is slated for Fall 2017.
