Designer . John Cook

John Cook has a wide-ranging professional design career that spans more than 35 years. As a California native, he spent a large part of his career at BMW Designworks, where he worked on many in-house projects for BMW and Mini.  He also worked with multiple outside clients including Microsoft, Diamond Back Racing and Spinning.

John’s work in the fitness industry included a tenure at Star Trac and Spinning, where he served as VP of Industrial Design. He is the holder of numerous design patents and is the recipient of numerous international design awards including the IDEA, Good Design, ID magazine and a Red Dot Award. He has been working with QCP for years and is responsible for designing the Q line of products.

John’s passion for form was developed early in his career through hand-sculpting his design concepts using multiple mediums including foam and clay. He brings that knowledge of form to his designs through the use of digital automotive surfacing tools that work in concert with the 3D manufacturing technologies that are used by QCP.  John currently lives in the beach community of Ventura, California, where he enjoys surfing, mountain biking and spending time with his wife and adult children.
